Temperatures regularly reach the high 20s Celsius in midsummer, with humidity a factor, though the parkland settings offer tree cover on most layouts. Golf Mont Cascades in Cantley, situated in the hills north of Gatineau, tends to catch more breeze and sits at slightly higher elevation, which can moderate conditions on hot afternoons. Weekends book up quickly, particularly for Château Cartier and courses within easy reach of the National Capital Region's large population base — advance tee-time reservations are practical throughout July and August. Daylight is generous, with usable evening light persisting past 8 p.m. in June, allowing for late-afternoon rounds after sightseeing. September and October deliver some of the most rewarding golf conditions in the Outaouais region. Temperatures moderate into the low-to-mid 20s Celsius in September, humidity drops, and the Gatineau Hills transition into full autumn colour by early-to-mid October — the hardwood forests surrounding parkland courses like Algonquin Club de Golf and Golf Mont Cascades turn reliably vivid during this period. Fairways firm up after the summer, ball travel increases, and morning rounds carry a crispness that many golfers prefer to midsummer heat. Crowds thin noticeably after Labour Day, and tee times become easier to secure on short notice. Green fees at resort properties often return to shoulder pricing by late September. The practical window narrows as October progresses: courses typically close by late October or early November as frost and early snowfall become possible, and late-afternoon rounds shorten with the fading light. Visitors planning a fall trip are best served by targeting mid-September through Thanksgiving weekend, when colour, conditions, and daylight align most favourably.
