How we handle the information you share while planning a trip.
Effective: July 7, 2026
Golf Trail (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates golftrail.ca, a service that helps you plan and book golf road trips across Canada — tee times, hotels, and the road between them. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and who we share it with. Questions? Email [email protected].
Trip planning. While you build a trip, we store your selections (courses, tee-time preferences, hotels, party size, dates) in your browser's session storage so the page can survive a refresh. That data never leaves your device until you click through to book.
Booking. When you go through checkout we collect what's needed to secure your reservation:
Payment card numbers. Full card details are transmitted directly to our booking partner (see below) and are not stored on our servers.
Automatic. Standard web logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps) are kept for security and diagnostics, typically for 30–90 days.
InteGolf. Tee-time and hotel booking is powered by InteGolf. To book on your behalf we pass them golfer names, contact details, trip details, and payment information. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy at integolf.com.
Hotel supply. Hotel inventory and reservations are fulfilled through Expedia's partner network via InteGolf. The hotel itself receives what it needs to honour the reservation (lead guest name, dates, room type).
Golf courses. Each booked course receives the tee-time details and golfer names so they can confirm your round.
Service providers. Hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring vendors process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Golf Trail, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in to any account area and to remember consent choices. We use your browser's session storageto hold the trip you're currently building — it clears when you close the tab. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
Booking records are kept for as long as needed to fulfill the reservation and afterward to meet tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations (typically seven years in Canada). Server access logs are kept for 30–90 days. Session-storage data lives only in your browser and clears when you close the tab.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal obligations to retain booking records. Email [email protected] to make a request. If we can't resolve a privacy concern to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We use industry-standard measures (TLS in transit, encrypted storage, access controls) to protect your information. No internet transmission is ever fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Golf Trail is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of the page.
