Chester Golf Club on the South Shore stands out as one of the older designs in the group, shaped by Stanley Thompson along rolling ground above Mahone Bay. In the Annapolis Valley, Paragon Golf & Country Club presents a full 6,900-yard, par-72 test in Kingston, one of the longer tracks in the province. Graham Cooke's work at Osprey Ridge in Bridgewater adds another substantial parkland option at 6,800 yards, while Le Portage Golf Club in Cape Breton, designed by Robert and David Moote at 6,777 yards, gives travellers heading to the island a worthwhile parkland stop. Most of the 15 courses are clustered within two hours of Halifax, making it practical to combine two or three in a single trip. Golfers prioritizing design pedigree may lean toward the Thompson-designed Chester or the Cooke-designed Osprey Ridge, while those focused on distance from the capital will find the Annapolis Valley courses a straightforward 90-minute drive west.
