1-Day Golf Road Trip: Niagara

Morning

A 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. tee time on the Royal Niagara Golf Club: Iron Bridge Course makes the most of the cooler morning air. The Ted Baker-designed parkland layout spans 27 holes, giving players room to mix and match nines without rushing. Arrive 20 minutes early to loosen up on the range before heading out.

Lunch & Afternoon

After the round, grab lunch at Ravine Vineyard Restaurant in St. Davids — a short drive from the course and a natural fit for wine-country golf travel. In the afternoon, head back to Royal Niagara for a second loop on the Royal Niagara Golf Club: Old Canal Course or the Royal Niagara Golf Club: Escarpment Course. Both are nine-hole, par-36 tracks — manageable as a casual afternoon round without the full commitment of another 18. The Escarpment Course carries a resort designation and offers a slightly different character from the parkland Old Canal layout, making it worth playing if time allows.

Evening

Check into Pillar and Post Inn & Spa or Oban Inn Spa & Restaurant, both centrally located in Niagara-on-the-Lake and well-suited for post-golf recovery. For dinner, the Cannery Restaurant at Pillar and Post is a convenient on-site option if staying there. Otherwise, Treadwell Cuisine and The Winery Restaurant at Peller Estates both offer strong local dining in town. Golfers looking to keep things casual can walk to the Olde Angel Inn, a longtime Niagara-on-the-Lake staple. Book dinner early — the town draws crowds in summer and shoulder-season weekends fill quickly.
