About this course

The Iron Bridge Course is one of three 9-hole layouts at Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Designed by Ted Baker and opened in 1999, this par-36, 3,511-yard parkland track sits within a striking natural corridor bounded by the Niagara Escarpment, the Bruce Trail, and the Welland Canal.

The course takes its name from its opening hole, which crosses a historic iron bridge over the Welland Canal — one of the more memorable first-tee departures in the region. A stretch of the layout runs alongside the Canal, giving several holes an open, waterside character. Elsewhere, deep bunkers and undulating greens demand precision and reward careful course management.

At 3,511 yards from the tips, the Iron Bridge Course suits a wide range of players. It can be played as a standalone 9-hole round or combined with either of Royal Niagara's two other 9-hole courses for a full 18. Golfers who appreciate defined, championship-calibre design in a scenic natural setting will find the course a satisfying outing.

Niagara-on-the-Lake itself is one of Ontario's most visited towns, known for its concentration of wineries, the Shaw Festival theatre, and well-preserved 19th-century architecture — making Royal Niagara a natural anchor for a longer regional golf trip.
