At the opposite end of the province, The Pines (Digby Pines Resort) in Digby carries a Stanley Thompson pedigree and a par-71 layout at 6,200 yards, making it the most historically significant track on the list. Inland on Cape Breton, The Lakes Resort Cape Breton in Ben Eoin offers another Cooke layout at 6,904 yards. Rounding out the group are Clyde River Golf Club on the Northumberland Shore and the Donald Ross–designed nine-hole White Point on the South Shore at Hunts Point. The nine-hole White Point suits a quick resort round, while Fox Harb'r and the Pines anchor longer stays. Driving distances vary considerably — Wallace to Digby is roughly four hours — so most golfers will anchor to one trail and build an itinerary around the nearest resort course rather than attempting to string all five together.
