Parkland Courses in Bas-Saint-Laurent & Gaspésie

Five parkland courses define the golfing landscape across Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie, stretching from the St. Lawrence River town of Rimouski east along the Gaspé Peninsula to Matane and inland to Amqui. Three of the five are concentrated around Rimouski, making that city a logical base: Golf Des Saules and Les Saules Golf Course are both 18-hole, par-71 layouts measuring just over 6,000 yards, while Club de Golf Val-Neigette, designed by John Watson, offers a par-72 layout of similar length. Golfers willing to drive roughly an hour inland on Route 132 reach Revermont in Amqui, a par-72 course stretching to 6,402 yards and designed by Marcel Notz — the longest track on the trail and the natural choice for those seeking a stiffer test. Matane, a Scott Watson-designed par-71 course in the coastal town of the same name, rounds out the trail and sits roughly an hour northeast of Rimouski along the St. Lawrence shore. Golfers based in Rimouski can realistically play three courses without moving accommodations; those aiming for the full five-course trail should plan for at least two nights.
