Lac Etchemin

Club de golf Lac-Etchemin is a public 18-hole parkland course situated in Lac-Etchemin, Quebec, within the Chaudière-Appalaches region south of Quebec City. Originally opened as a nine-hole layout in 1971, the course was expanded to its current 18-hole configuration in 1991, giving it more than five decades of history as a community golf destination.

At 6,189 yards from the tips and playing to a par of 71, the course presents a measured challenge suited to a wide range of handicaps. The design leans heavily on natural hazards: 13 water hazards and 45 sand traps appear throughout the layout, meaning wayward shots are frequently punished regardless of which nine a player is navigating. The combination of persistent water and bunker pressure on a parkland track of this length rewards accuracy over raw distance.

With 13 water features spread across 18 holes, players can expect water to come into play on most holes — making course management a more decisive factor than at many similarly sized courses. The sand trap count of 45 reinforces that the design was built to test ball-striking consistency rather than simply penalize big hitters.
