Club de Golf Boule Rock

Club de Golf Boule Rock sits in the village of Métis-sur-Mer on the south shore of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, making it one of the more stoically scenic settings in Canadian golf. Designed by Albert Murray and opened in 1919, the club has more than a century of continuous operation behind it — a rarity in this part of the country.

The course plays to a par of 71 over 6,066 yards, a layout that rewards placement and course management over raw power. Mature trees line much of the property, tightening fairways and demanding accuracy off the tee. The 6th hole provides a direct view of the St. Lawrence River, offering one of the more striking mid-round panoramas a golfer will encounter in Quebec.

At just over 6,000 yards, Boule Rock is well-suited to a wide range of players — those returning to the game, travelling seniors, and mid-handicappers who appreciate a course where local knowledge and shot-making count for more than distance. That said, the tree-lined corridors keep better players honest.

Métis-sur-Mer is a small, historically English-speaking enclave on the Lower St. Lawrence, close to the renowned Reford Gardens (Jardins de Métis). Visitors combining golf at Boule Rock with time in the region have access to one of Quebec's more distinctive coastal corners, well off the beaten path of the province's busier golf circuits.
