Off the course, southwestern Ontario's Carolinian forest is coming back to life, and the Niagara and Lake Erie wine regions nearby offer a natural complement to a golf trip. By mid-May, conditions typically firm up and the season finds its stride.

Summer

June through August represents the peak of the golf season across southwestern Ontario. Daytime highs regularly reach the mid-20s to low 30s Celsius, and the region's position in Canada's warmest climate zone means extended daylight well into evening. Parkland courses are generally in their best conditioning through this stretch, with lush canopy providing shade on tree-lined holes. Humidity can be notable in July and August, particularly closer to Lake Erie, and afternoon thunderstorms are a regular feature of the summer pattern — morning tee times tend to offer more reliable weather windows. This is the busiest period for bookings, so advance reservations are advisable, especially on weekends. Local farmers' markets, fruit stands, and festivals fill out the off-course calendar, making a multi-day trip easy to build around.

Fall

September and October deliver some of the most pleasant playing conditions in southwestern Ontario. Temperatures cool into the high teens and low 20s Celsius, humidity drops, and the parkland settings take on genuine colour as the Carolinian hardwoods turn through September into October. Courses tend to be less crowded than in summer, and pace of play improves noticeably. Fall pricing is often reduced at many clubs, making it a practical time for a road trip. Morning rounds may require a light frost delay by mid-October, and rainfall increases as the season winds down. Most courses in the region remain open through October and some into early November, though late-season conditions vary year to year. The surrounding agricultural landscape — known for apple orchards, corn harvests, and wine-country activity around Essex and Norfolk counties — gives a fall golf trip here a distinct regional character.
