7-Day Golf Road Trip: Greater Toronto

The Greater Toronto trail strings together a handful of distinctly different tracks across Brampton, Maple, Amaranth, Pickering, and Milton — all within a reasonable drive of the 401 corridor. The week opens with Lionhead's two championship layouts in Brampton before pushing east to Pickering and looping back west through Maple and Amaranth. Golfers finish near Milton, keeping logistics simple and mileage manageable throughout.

Day 1

Arrive in Brampton and check into Monte Carlo Inn Brampton Suites to anchor the first half of the trip. If legs are fresh after the drive, an afternoon nine or a range session sets the tone. Dinner at Mt. Vesuvio's Ristorante on the Brampton side keeps things local and low-effort on a travel day. Confirm a morning tee time at Lionhead: Masters Course before turning in — demand on this layout runs high and morning slots disappear quickly.

Day 2

Morning tee time at Lionhead: Masters Course in Brampton, a par-72 layout built for scoring variety and strategic shot-making. Plan to be on the first tee by 8 a.m. to stay ahead of weekend crowds. After the round, a post-golf steak at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar – Bramalea is a straightforward call — it sits close to the Lionhead complex. Return to Monte Carlo Inn Brampton Suites for the night and book tomorrow's round at the adjacent Legends layout.

Day 3

Back at Lionhead for the second course: Lionhead: Legends Course, a par-72 designed by Ted Baker. The two Lionhead tracks play differently enough to justify back-to-back days, and comparing them is part of the draw. Tee off mid-morning to allow time for a relaxed pace. This is the last night in Brampton, so settle the tab at the inn and pack for an eastward move tomorrow. Dinner again near the property — Mt. Vesuvio's or a return to The Keg both work given proximity.

Day 4

Check out of Monte Carlo Inn Brampton Suites and drive east to Pickering. Check into Pickering Casino Resort Hotel before an afternoon round at Pickering Glen Golf Club, a par-72 parkland course in Pickering. The parkland layout rewards ball-strikers who can work through tree-lined corridors. After the round, PORT Restaurant in Pickering is the obvious dinner pick — it sits within the local dining draw near the waterfront area. An evening walk along the lakeshore rounds out the day.

Day 5

A rest morning at the resort before checking out and relocating west to Milton. Settle into Home2 Suites by Hilton Milton Ontario or opt for the more rustic Milton Heights Campground depending on preference. The afternoon is free — Milton's position makes it a useful hub for the final stretch. Dinner at Ivy Arms in Milton is a solid choice for a pub-style meal that doesn't require a reservation chase. Use the evening to confirm tee times at Kirby Links and Lynbrook for the last two playing days.

Day 6

Drive north to Maple for a morning round at Kirby Links Golf Course, an 18-hole par-54 links-style layout — ideal for working on the short game and course management without the time commitment of a full par-72 track. The shorter format means a round can be completed in under three hours, leaving the afternoon open. Return to Milton and consider dinner at Locanda or Marquee Steakhouse & Piano Lounge, both in Milton and both capable of handling a post-round appetite. Overnight at the Milton property of choice.

Day 7

Final morning round at Lynbrook Family Golf Centre in Amaranth — a par-27, 18-hole layout that works well as a low-pressure closer to the week. Tee off early to allow time for the drive home afterward. The compact format suits players whose legs are tired from six previous days of golf. After the round, a farewell lunch at Marquee Steakhouse & Piano Lounge in Milton is a fitting send-off before hitting the highway. The Best Western Milton serves as a backup overnight option for those with an early-morning departure the following day.
