This Nova Scotia road trip pairs one of Canada's most storied resort courses with two under-the-radar parkland tracks along the Acadian Shore. The driving distances are short — Digby, Annapolis Royal, and Comeauville form a loose arc of roughly an hour end-to-end — making this a comfortable trip for golfers who want unhurried rounds and serious seafood between them.

Day 1

Arrive in Digby with enough time to check in and get oriented before an afternoon tee time at The Pines (Digby Pines Resort). Stanley Thompson's 1931 design rolls through mature pines above the Annapolis Basin, a par-71 layout that rewards accuracy over power and deserves full attention on the first visit. Plan a tee time no later than 2 p.m. to finish in good light and leave time to walk the grounds.

The natural stay here is Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa, which sits directly on property and keeps the post-round logistics simple. Golfers who prefer a separate base in town have solid alternatives: Admiral Digby Inn and Cottages, Bayside Inn, and Coastal Inn Digby are all in Digby proper. That evening, Digby's scallop fleet is reason enough to eat well — Fundy Restaurant and The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta are both in town and built around local catch. Churchill's Restaurant & Lounge is another option for a more relaxed dinner.

Day 2

Day 2 heads east along the Annapolis Valley to Annapolis Royal Golf & Country Club, a par-71 parkland course set in one of Nova Scotia's oldest settled landscapes. Morning tee times work well here — the course is roughly 45 minutes from Digby, so a 9 a.m. start is realistic with an early breakfast. The layout suits players of most levels and gives a different feel from the Thompson resort course the day before: quieter, tree-lined, and community-rooted rather than grand.

Annapolis Royal itself is worth a slow afternoon. The town has a compact historic core, and Founders House Dining is a natural choice for lunch or an early dinner in the area before the return drive. For the night, golfers have a couple of options depending on preference. The Harbourview Inn in Smith's Cove sits between Annapolis Royal and Digby on the Basin and is a strong midpoint stop. Those who want a more outdoors-oriented stay can look at Fundy Spray Campground, also in Smith's Cove. Either option keeps the next morning's drive to Comeauville manageable.

Day 3

The final round takes the trip south and west along the French Shore to Clare Golf & Country Club in Comeauville, a par-72 parkland track in the heart of Nova Scotia's Acadian community. Clare is a longer layout than the two preceding courses and is well suited to a relaxed morning round before the drive home. Tee off early enough to finish by early afternoon, leaving time for a stop in the area before heading out.

The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta has a second location in Belliveau Cove, just along the shore from Comeauville, and makes for a fitting final meal before departure — local seafood, Acadian surroundings, and a logical stop on the route back toward the Annapolis Valley or the Digby ferry terminal for those crossing to Saint John.
