1-Day Golf Road Trip: Kootenay Rockies

Morning

Base the day in Invermere and tee off early at Copper Point Golf Club- Point, the longer of the two Copper Point layouts at par 71. Designed by Gary Browning and Wade Horrocks, the course plays through mountain terrain that rewards a straight ball off the tee. A 7:30–8:00 a.m. start keeps the round moving before midday heat builds in the Columbia Valley. Staying on property at Copper Point Resort makes the walk to the first tee straightforward.

Lunch & Afternoon

After the morning round, grab a bite at Traders Lounge at Eagle Ranch Resort or head briefly into town for lunch at The Station Pub or Birchwood Restaurant — both are in Invermere and offer a quick turnaround. In the afternoon, take a second look at Copper Point The Ridge, the par-62 companion course also designed by Gary Browning. At 18 holes but a shorter par, The Ridge suits a relaxed afternoon loop without the full commitment of another regulation round. It's an efficient way to squeeze more golf into a single day without burning out before dinner.

Evening

For dinner, Black Forest Restaurant in Invermere offers a solid option after a full day on the courses. Those who prefer to stay closer to the resort can return to Traders Lounge at Eagle Ranch Resort. Golfers not already staying at Copper Point Resort might consider Headwaters Lodge at Eagle Ranch Resort or Best Western Invermere Inn as practical overnight options in town. Book tee times for both Copper Point courses in advance — resort courses in the Columbia Valley fill quickly in peak summer months, and back-to-back rounds on the same property are easiest to coordinate directly through the resort.
