Copper Point The Ridge

Copper Point The Ridge sits in Invermere, British Columbia, in the Columbia Valley — a region framed by the Rocky Mountains to the east and the Purcells to the west. Designed by Gary Browning and opened in 2008, it is one of two 18-hole courses at Copper Point Golf Club, connected to its sister layout, The Point, via a tunnel running beneath Highway 93/95. Check-in for The Ridge takes place at the Copper Point Clubhouse.

At par 62 and 5,072 yards, The Ridge is built entirely from par 3s and par 4s — no par 5s appear on the card. That format keeps rounds moving; the course is commonly completed in around three hours. The routing takes advantage of character-filled terrain, and the varied elevation and hole shapes that come with it give the layout more texture than a simple par count might suggest.

The absence of par 5s makes The Ridge an approachable option for higher-handicap golfers and those newer to the game, while the full-length par 4s ensure single-digit players still have decisions to make off the tee and into greens. The compact format also suits golfers looking to squeeze in a round without a full five-hour commitment — a practical consideration for road-trippers moving through the valley.

Invermere itself sits near the northern end of Lake Windermere and serves as a hub for Columbia Valley recreation. The surrounding area offers hiking, paddling, and access to Panorama Mountain Resort, making Copper Point a natural stop for visitors already in the region for other outdoor pursuits.
