Golf St-Rémi

Golf St-Rémi is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course in Lac-aux-Sables, Quebec, set where rivers, lakes, and mountain terrain converge in the Mauricie region. The club traces its roots to 1970, when it opened as a 9-hole layout under the name Tawachiche. A second nine was developed and a new clubhouse constructed between 1998 and 2000, bringing the course to its current 5,906-yard configuration.

The layout is divided into two distinct 9-hole sections that offer notably different character. Tawachiche, the original nine, features spacious fairways lined with mature trees — a measured, classic parkland experience. Mékinac, the newer addition, plays longer and is designed to test players who can move the ball off the tee. Together, the two nines provide variety across a single round without feeling like a patchwork layout.

At just under 6,000 yards from the tips, Golf St-Rémi suits a broad range of handicaps. Recreational golfers and seniors will find the Tawachiche side approachable, while the Mékinac nine gives stronger players something to work against. The natural setting — trees, water features, and the surrounding Quebec landscape — makes it a worthwhile stop for road-trippers moving through the Mauricie corridor.
