Golf Lac Carling is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course set on the southern shores of Lac Carling in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Quebec. Its roots trace to 1945, when Stanley Thompson — one of Canada's most celebrated golf architects — designed an original nine-hole layout for the Ayers family. Howard Watson expanded and redesigned the course into its current 18-hole form, which opened in 1961. At 6,593 yards, the layout incorporates three par threes and three par fives across a setting shaped by the lake that gives the course its name.

Water is a recurring presence throughout the round. The par-four 2nd and par-four 7th both feature greens that sit near the encroaching lake, demanding precision on approach shots where a mishit can find the water's edge.
