1-Day Golf Road Trip: Lake Huron

Morning

Tee off early at Goderich Sunset Golf Club, Fred Hull's 18-hole, par-70 parkland layout in Ashfield–Colborne–Wawanosh. A morning start — aim for 8 a.m. — keeps pace of play manageable and leaves the afternoon open for the drive south toward Kincardine. The course plays to its name best in the late day, but morning light on the parkland holes is equally rewarding. Use the first few holes to settle into the layout before the par-70 routing tightens up.

Lunch & Afternoon

After the round, make the short drive south to Kincardine and grab lunch at Erie Belle Restaurant before heading to Ainsdale Golf Course, a full 18-hole, par-72 track designed by Fred Hulls. An afternoon tee time here provides a solid contrast to the morning's parkland round. Golfers looking to extend the day further can add a loop at BlackHorse Golf Resort, also in Kincardine, if legs and daylight allow. Prioritize Ainsdale if time is tight — the par-72 layout offers the fuller test.

Evening

Settle into TownePlace Suites by Marriott Kincardine for a comfortable night in town, or opt for the more intimate Inn at the Harbour for a Kincardine harbour-side feel. Golfers preferring to base the whole trip out of Goderich can book Benmiller Inn & Spa ahead of time and make the return drive north after play.
