3-Day Golf Road Trip: Annapolis Valley

Annapolis Valley Golf Road Trip

Apple orchards, parkland fairways, and Fundy tides set the backdrop for this three-day loop through Nova Scotia's most relaxed golf corridor. The route suits golfers who want walkable, friendly courses without big-resort crowds, and driving between anchors rarely exceeds 45 minutes. Annapolis Royal at the western end and Wolfville near the eastern end serve as natural bookends.

Day 1

Arrive in Kingston by late morning and check in to the Aurora Inn before heading straight to Paragon Golf & Country Club, the trail's signature layout. The par-72 parkland course rewards a mid-morning tee time when the fairways are still quiet and the light is low through the trees. Paragon's gentle terrain makes it an easy walk, so there's no pressure to rent a cart — though taking one on a first visit is reasonable to scout the layout. After the round, the drive west along Highway 101 to Annapolis Royal takes under 30 minutes. Settle into either the Annapolis Royal Inn & Suites or the Victorian-era Queen Anne Inn for a more historic feel. Dinner in town is well covered: Founders House Dining & Drinks offers a solid local menu, while Restaurant Composé is worth booking ahead if a quieter, more composed meal is the preference. Ye Olde Towne Pub works for a low-key pint and a plate after a long travel-and-golf day.

Day 2

Day two centers on Berwick Heights Golf Course in Berwick, a par-72 parkland course sitting roughly midway along the Valley corridor — about 20 minutes east of Annapolis Royal. An 8 or 9 a.m. tee time leaves the afternoon open for the Valley's other draws: the area between Berwick and Wolfville threads through active apple country and past several wineries. The drive east toward Wolfville after the round takes under 30 minutes and passes through some of the Valley's most photogenic farmland. Check in to the Old Orchard Inn Resort & Spa in Wolfville, which sits on a hillside with views over the Annapolis Valley. For dinner, Juniper Food + Wine in Wolfville is a practical and well-regarded option close to the inn. Golfers wanting a winery dinner instead can consider Le Caveau Restaurant at Grand Pré Winery in Grand Pré, just a short drive from Wolfville — reservations are advisable in season.

Day 3

The final morning takes golfers to Ken-Wo Country Club in New Minas, an 18-hole par-71 parkland course a few minutes north of Wolfville on Highway 101. Ken-Wo is one of the older established clubs in the region and plays in a comfortable, unhurried style that suits a departure-day round. A 7:30 or 8 a.m. tee time gets the round finished by early afternoon, leaving a reasonable window to make it back to Halifax (roughly 90 minutes east) or to connect onward. Those staying an extra night can base themselves at the Slumber Inn New Minas, which is convenient to the course and practical if an early getaway the following morning is the plan. Alternatively, the Tattingstone Inn back in Wolfville is a more refined option for golfers not in a hurry. Paddy's Irish Brewpub & Rosie's Restaurant in nearby Kentville makes a sensible lunch stop before heading out, closing the loop on a trail that covers the full east-west length of the Valley in three easy days.
