Hillsborough Golf Club

Hillsborough Golf Club is a public 18-hole, par-72 parkland course situated in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. Opened in 1996, the layout was carved from forest and developed alongside natural gypsum deposits, giving the property a distinctive character rooted in the local geology — white rock formations surface throughout, and elevated terrain opens up views across the surrounding landscape.

At 6,120 yards, the course presents a measured challenge that rewards accuracy over raw distance. The routing makes use of natural features at every turn: several par 3s demand tee shots across water, and undulating greens add a putting test that can surprise first-time visitors. Two holes in particular stand out for their settings. The 14th calls for an elevated approach over quarry rock and water, while the 17th plays past a covered bridge spanning a rocky stream — one of the more visually memorable holes in the region. The gypsum outcroppings and tree-lined fairways give the course a cohesive character that feels genuinely tied to the Hillsborough landscape rather than imposed on it.
