About The Quarry

The Quarry is a 27-hole championship golf facility in northeast Edmonton, Alberta, situated along the North Saskatchewan River. Designed by Les Furber and built on the site of a former sand and gravel operation, the course opened its first 18 holes in 2012, with the third nine completing the facility in 2013. The three nines — Granite, Ironstone, and Slate — can be combined into any of three 18-hole configurations, offering returning visitors a meaningfully different round each visit.

The course plays between 5,100 and 7,600 yards depending on tee selection, with the championship layout stretching to a demanding par 72 at 7,601 yards. The industrial past of the site has been put to good work: the former quarry operations left behind significant mounding and elevation changes that Furber incorporated into the routing, giving the layout a more varied, contoured character than is typical of Edmonton's river-valley terrain. A standout hole on the Granite nine is a par 3 played across water, providing one of the more visually striking tee shots on the property.

The range of tee options — from 5,100 yards up to the full championship stretch — makes The Quarry a reasonable choice for players across a wide spectrum of ability. Those looking to test themselves against a genuine championship layout will find enough length and challenge at the back tees, while shorter configurations keep the course accessible for recreational players. The northeast Edmonton location places it within practical reach of the city's core, and the riverside setting provides a natural backdrop that softens what was once an industrial landscape.
