The Quarry

The Quarry is a 27-hole championship golf facility in northeast Edmonton, Alberta, situated along the North Saskatchewan River. Designed by Les Furber and built on the site of a former sand and gravel operation, the course opened its first 18 holes — the Granite and Slate nines — in 2012, followed by the Ironstone nine in 2013. Yardages across the three combinations range from approximately 5,100 to 7,600 yards, making the facility accessible to a wide range of players.

The industrial history of the site has left a visible imprint on the layout. Mounding and elevation changes — remnants of the former quarry operation — shape many of the playing corridors and create a terrain that feels more dramatic than the surrounding Edmonton flatlands might suggest. The Granite nine features a par-3 played across water, one of the more demanding short-iron tests on the property. When combining any two nines for an 18-hole round, the par-72 championship configuration stretches to 7,601 yards from the tips.

The Quarry suits golfers who appreciate a course with genuine elevation variety and a strategic layout that rewards course management. The multi-nine format also gives groups flexibility in choosing their preferred challenge on any given visit.
