Mountain Golf & Country Club

Mountain Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole public course situated in the hills of East Mountain, Nova Scotia, offering views of the valley and surrounding landscape. Originally opening in 1969 as a nine-hole layout, the club was later expanded to a full 18 holes — a development arc shared by many of Atlantic Canada's established courses. Recent improvements include the addition of new tee decks and a rebuilt green on the opening hole, signalling continued investment in course conditioning.

The course plays to a par of 71 over 6,146 yards, a length that rewards accuracy and course management over raw power. The hilly terrain introduces natural elevation changes throughout the round, shaping shot selection and providing the kind of scenic variety that distinguishes parkland courses in this region. Three holes are singled out as particularly notable: the par-5 11th, the par-4 12th, and the par-3 finishing hole, the 18th — an uncommon closing setup that leaves golfers ending their round on a short-iron challenge rather than a conventional par-4 or par-5 drive.

At just over 6,100 yards, it is accessible to mid- and high-handicappers, while the elevation changes and the demanding closing stretch give better players something to think about.
